Chief Accountant in Kuwait

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our organization in Kuwait. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards to maintain the integrity of financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, providing insights and recommendations to the management team for informed decision-making
• Oversee the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to establish financial goals and monitor performance against those targets
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent financial discrepancies
• Lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of all audit requirements
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance, identifying trends and proposing strategies to enhance profitability and operational efficiency
• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development and enhance team performance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized institution
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Kuwaiti financial regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS)
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
• Proficiency in advanced accounting software and financial systems, with strong Excel skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities with experience in mentoring junior staff
