About the Role
The Senior Engineer will lead the planning, design and optimisation of Ooredoo Kuwait’s transport and IP infrastructure. You will work on cutting‑edge technologies such as IP/MPLS, DWDM, SDH, microwave and optical fibre to ensure high availability, scalability and performance across the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, dimension and engineer back‑haul and backbone networks using IP/MPLS, DWDM, SDH and microwave technologies.
- Design transport solutions for 5G, 4G/LTE, 2G/3G RAN, BSS and related radio systems, including traffic routing, monitoring and business‑critical services.
- Develop and evolve the IP transport layer to support Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) and network slicing for eMBB, mMTC and URLLC use cases.
- Monitor capacity and performance, forecast growth, and implement redundancy and upgrade plans to meet 99.999% availability targets.
- Lead end‑to‑end project lifecycles: surveys, work orders, vendor coordination, RFP preparation, detailed assessments and contractual compliance.
- Document high‑level and low‑level designs, method of procedures and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with international best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience designing and operating large‑scale transport networks (IP/MPLS, DWDM, SDH, microwave).
- Hands‑on expertise with IPv6, Segment Routing, BGP, RIPE, GRX/IPX and network‑slicing concepts.
- Proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning.
- Strong analytical skills, capacity planning ability and a focus on reliability (99.999% uptime).
- Excellent communication, vendor management and documentation skills.
