About the Role
Sartotech Solutions in Kuwait seeks a Middle Java Developer to design, build, and maintain robust applications and services that scale with business needs. You will translate requirements into clean code, improve system reliability, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality software. The role balances ownership of core modules with mentorship and continuous improvement within a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications and microservices that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Optimize performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure uptime across critical services.
- Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and uphold coding standards and security practices.
- Collaborate with product and QA teams to refine specifications, estimate effort, and plan releases.
- Refactor legacy components, reduce technical debt, and support infrastructure automation where applicable.
- Document architectures, APIs, and operational runbooks to enable knowledge sharing and smooth onboarding.
- Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response and postmortem processes.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience developing server-side applications with Java and common frameworks such as Spring or Spring Boot.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and RESTful API principles.
- Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, and basic Linux/command-line operations for deployment tasks.
- Experience with build tools, dependency management, and version control (e.g., Maven/Gradle and Git).
- Knowledge of testing practices, including unit testing, mocking, and test-driven development concepts.
- Ability to analyze requirements, break down problems, and deliver maintainable solutions under deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams.
