About the Role
The Senior Buyer – Marketplace will drive e‑commerce growth by onboarding and supporting small and medium‑size businesses. You will own end‑to‑end category performance, forge strategic seller partnerships, and solve complex business problems that deliver high impact results. This role blends tactical execution with strategic vision to expand product selection and maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the business owner for assigned categories, owning forecasting, monitoring, and reporting to achieve business objectives.
- Develop and execute business plans for new opportunities, coordinating cross‑functional teams and managing project timelines.
- Negotiate and manage vendor relationships, supplier contracts, and marketing funds to secure favorable terms.
- Conduct financial analysis of opportunities, ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met or exceeded.
- Advocate for customer needs by driving site features that enhance the shopping experience.
- Monitor industry trends, seasonality, and competitor developments to inform strategy.
- Collaborate with merchandising, pricing, and promotion teams to launch new features and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, or Management.
- 5+ years of senior‑level experience in retail, specifically in Consumer Electronics, Sports, Hobbies & Travel, or Home & Garden.
- Proven track record in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotion, inventory management, and product development.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to own and manage a business P&L.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.
- Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
